How to fix Skype for Business or Lync for Windows
- Log out of Skype for Business or Lync (the images below are from Lync 2013, but the same steps apply).
- Click Delete my sign-in info:
- Exit the Skype for Business client
- Click Start. Go to Computer. In the address bar, copy and paste one of the following locations (depending on the version of Office installed)
- Office 2013 - %AppData%.LocalMicrosoftOffice15.0Lync
- Office 2016 - %AppData%.LocalMicrosoftOffice16.0LyncNote: Both Lync and Skype for Business folders are named 'Lync' in the file explorer.
- Delete your sip profile folder.
Note: The sip profile folder will have your sip information as the name, so it should look like 'sip_[username]@liberty.edu' - Go into the Tracing folder
- Delete the all files, but not the folders
- Close the window
- Click on Start, then type CMD and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter
- Close or exit out of the Command Prompt
- Re-open Skype for Business, and everything should be working properly again.
